La science démontre clairement l’efficacité de la thérapie par ondes de choc

La thérapie par ondes de choc a été prouvée, par de nombreuses études, comme étant une option de traitement non invasive efficace et sûre pour les tendons et d’autres pathologies du système musculo-squelettique dans une multitude d’études de haute qualité. De plus, la plupart des études font référence à l’efficacité du shockwave pour le traitement de la fasciite plantaire, la tendinopathie non-calcifiante du tendon sus-épineux et la tendinite calcifiante de l’épaule. À cet égard, cette thérapie a obtenu les scores les plus élevés parmi toutes les modalités thérapeutiques étudiées pour ces pathologies. Ce dernier critère a également été atteint pour la tendinopathie d’Achille et l’épicondylite latérale. En conclusion, la thérapie par ondes de choc devrait être considérée par les médecins, les thérapeutes, les patients et les payeurs en à l’égard des options de traitement, pour certaines pathologies musculo-squelettiques.
